Love coming to genever for a gin or two but today decided to road test the afternoon tea before our booking in October. I wasn't disappointed it was lovely and nicely presented ,loved the nice touch with the chocolate dipped strawberries. Staff were attentive. You got loads we were both so full afterwards that I never had anything else to eat for the rest of the day. It's excellent value for money too at £9.95 for the afternoon tea with tea or coffee and £14.95 if you want a Gin . I upgraded and asked the staff to rustle up a fruity gin with elderflower tonic it was devine. I'm looking forward to trying it again in October and in the mean time I will pop in and try brunch
Tonight when I walked into the bar, the bar tender did not give me any welcome, but instead watching me weirdly in silence. I asked for a table for two and she just pointed downstairs and tell me to go there, without a menu or any instruction. After sitting a long time without any care from anyone, I went upstairs again and asked for a menu, but find no one at bar, the bar tenders were chatting elsewhere. They threw a menu into my face after I asked for one. I walked out and I swear I won’t come back if apologies and improvements are made. The bar tenders ruined my night.
Have been to genever on two occasions. First as part of a girls night out. We arrived en mass and the girls on the bar got through our drinks orders quickly and efficiently. A really great selection of gins and cocktails. I have also been to genever for afternoon tea. Absolutely brilliant value for money and i've had a lot worse and paid more. I had my baby with me, pushchair etc. This wasn't a problem either. The atmosphere was really relaxing and staff really attentive. Highly, highly recommended and i can not wait to see what else they have to offer.
I've been here a couple of times now and it's a fabulous little bar, first time we came for gin and a sharing platter. Huge selection of gins and the sharing platter was gorgeous. Second visit was for afternoon tea with the girls which was absolutely gorgeous and fantastic value for money at £9.95...you can upgrade for an extra £5 and have a gin which I think i will do next time! Highly recommended!

Only popped in for one drink but couldn’t resist another from their vast array of gins. Decided to order a sharing platter and was so impressed at the quaility selection of cheeses, tasty Serrano ham and cold cuts all served with flatbread, crackers, olives, and delicious peppers. Lovely evening in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Excellent value! Can’t recommend highly enough!
We had a lovely afternoon at Genever eating our meat and cheese platter. The choices of meat and cheese were very nice and plentiful. The additional bits and bobs on the platter were tasty. We had a couple of gin and tonics each and enjoyed them as well. Summing up we had a lovely meal had lovely g and t were very well looked after by nice staff.
Six of us had been out for a meal for my birthday we then decided to go to Genever as they were having Spanish night the place was empty no music on no atmosphere we had a drink then left. Other bars nearby were busy like the Juniper Tree. Would not visit Genever again
Only popped in for 1 on the way past as we had been eating at a restaurant nearby, but we found the place excellent. Friendly staff and decent price, plus the place looks great. Will be back.

We spent a very pleasant hour here. The staff were all very pleasant and there was a huge selection of gins. There was also a very nice draught lager.
Booked last minute and they could accommodate all 5 of us. Food was gorgeous setting was lovely too.
