Near the water front, this lovely restaurant offers an interesting menu as Korean cuisine is new to us. We started with the vegetable pancakes and small sides such as kimchi, pickled onions, squid noodles. The vegetable dumplings were good and so were the vegetables with noodles. <br/ <br/ The beef bulgogi was thinly sliced porterhouse cooked on the BBQ with zucchini, mushrooms sweet potatoes and that was lovely. This was accompanied by a rice dish mixed with vegetables and an egg which was cooked by the heat of the meal a spicy sauce. The side sauces included salt pepper oil spicy soy beans. We started with pork dumplings that had a great flavor and a wonderfully crispy exterior. The croquettes were a standout dish for me – simply amazing!
For our main courses, we had beef and chicken BBQ, both cooked right at our table. Although I typically eat red meat only a few times a year, I found the beef to be exceptionally tender and flavorful.
We also tried a vegetable noodle dish, which was quite nice.
To finish our meal, we shared some pancakes. While they were decent, we all agreed not to order them again, as we generally prefer Korean savory dishes over sweet ones. However, for those who enjoy Korean desserts, this could be a treat for you.

Eager to try something new, my partner and I dined at Geonbae last Saturday night, and we were thoroughly impressed! As newcomers to Korean BBQ, we were excited to sample a few dishes but not quite hungry enough for the large set menus. We decided on the croquettes (divine!), kimchi gratin (spicy and addictive), spicy chicken BBQ (very flavorful), and beef bulgogi BBQ (absolutely delicious!). We left feeling extremely satisfied and pleasantly full, already looking forward to our next visit. Geonbae is a fantastic addition to Frankston! Finally Korean food in Frankston! And it is delicious! <br/ <br/ I love that because my mum ordered the Korean BBQ spicy chicken they provided us with sides like kimchi and apple. <br/ <br/ I ordered the bibimbap. It was nicely presented but then the waitress poured the sauce over it and mixed it in for me so I was unable to take a photo of what it looked like beforehand.... was impressed by how huge the servings were! The bibimbap was nice and spicy. <br/ <br/ They also do Korean BBQ as well.

We tried a number of dishes and they were all tasty. Both the beef and spicy pork bibim bap were delicious. The japchae was a tad too salty and there was a pool of sauce at the bottom (japchae shouldn't be saucy... Maybe added too much soy sauce..? but the taste was still good. The Tang Su yook was a bit too sweet, it was almost like a dessert. The food came super fast and service was great so a very happy dining experience :
Had take away from this place many times and loved it so decided it was was worth seeing what dining in was like. Bibimbap is very good, cannot fault. The chicken was very succulent and the serving size is huge! The only down side for me was the honey mustard sauce. The chicken was drowning in it which made it hard to eat. Probably ordering the sauce on the side is the way to go. The potato croquettes were also delicious.
Superb, great food, myself and 4 family members had the banquet, it was sensational.The food was both cooked well and served beautifully, the staff were very attentive and it was reasonably priced.I will definitely venture back
The food and service were fantastic. The BBQ meat was outstanding, and the japchae was just as delicious. I will definitely return—it's one of the best Korean BBQ places I've been to. I highly recommend it!

Such a great experience. We were in a rush so didn’t have time to try the set menus which looked amazing. The fried Korean chicken was Devine. Great service. We’ll definitely be back!
