This place has gone downhill. Their service is completely inconsistent and whoever is working behind the grill must be incompetent. They skimp on food orders like no other, they use a tiny small sausage patty for their sausage, egg and cheeses and have the audacity to charge what they do. I ordered a omelet platter and opened the pickup order and there were barely any potatoes at all. They mess up every order and it 's a shame because this place was one of my favorite go-to delis. Now I don 't go there anymore. There are still far too many other options to have this type of service be acceptable. Save your money and go to Cafe Via Expresso on Steinway or NYBACH on 30th.
I’ve had my order messed up twice already. If I could leave zero stars I would!! Whoever’s working is not paying any attention. Chicken salad was confused for egg salad. Egg has only 3 letters!!! Then all the sandwiches are burnt black!!!! I paid and waited over an hour to be given something I have no interest in eating. workers are not helpful at all either. Horrible service!!!!!! Don’t waste your time here!?
The staff member at the counter seems unable to multitask—he didn’t answer the phone while taking orders for quick pickups. To make matters worse, despite writing my order down, he still got it wrong. I can’t comprehend how challenging it can be to manage deli orders when there are only a few customers in line.
The service was excellent, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The burger was undercooked and lacked flavor, and the fries were not much better. I can't recommend this place, as it was pricey for just one person, and the quality of the food did not meet expectations.

During the covid-19 pandemic, Georges deli was the slice of normal me and my brothers needed. You guys and gals always pulled through on the Bacon Cheeseburger Deluxes, enough so you got a stimulus check from me ???. PLEASE MAKE MERCHANDISE
First of all, love you guys. You’re the best. I do have a gripe though. Please please please reinstate the former, optimal chicken tenders. The “new” ones just aren’t going to cut it for those late night snack binges
I visited this restaurant for an egg sandwich, which is something my boyfriend used to enjoy with his dad when he was young. The staff was friendly, and the sandwich was delicious!
The grill is going 24 hours a day and everything they make is memorable not to mention the service is above par its definitely a hidden gem in Astoria.
