George's Tradition Chilwell

As seniors, we found the price of £20.40 for 2 small cod meals with a large curry sauce to be quite high, making it more of a treat for us. Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. We waited a long time for our meal, approximately 25 minutes, only to be let down by the quality of the food. The chips were of poor quality and the mushy peas were more like a green liquid with hardly any peas in sight. To top it off, in a previous visit last June, my order was missing the chips altogether. Just been in George's Chiwell. Large fish and chips small fish and chips two kids meals, gravey and curry sauce £35! I know things have gone up. The food was okay at best. The chip's weren't very warm and looked like they had been there for a while. The fish was nice as it had been freshly cooked. The shop was empty. The lady in the shop had to write the prices on the receipt as it wasn't itemised.

After a disappointing experience in May, I decided to give this restaurant another try. Since I was dining alone, I ordered through Deliveroo. The food arrived promptly and was deliciously hot, which was a pleasant change from my previous visit. The cod was cooked perfectly and the chips were excellent. My only complaint is that I couldn't order peas and curry sauce through the Deliveroo app.

Disappointing service from the staff. Disrespectful and rude when a complaint was made. ‘Whatever’! Was what I heard as I left. Decent food from George’s and I travel miles to get there but there is a real disappointment with how I was treated tonight. I’d say it is normally brusque but acceptable rather than friendly. Bought A Small fish, chips curry meal for £7.65ish and was absolutely disgusted by the pathetic portion size. Yes I wanted a small fish but I wasn’t expecting a child size portion. To make matters worse the batter was soggy the chips tasted old. Very poor quality won’t be returning… Chilwell Nottingham

As a special treat for my family while not feeling well, I decided to order fish and chips. However, I was extremely disappointed. The fish and chips were only lukewarm and the batter was heavy and not crispy at all. It was disappointing considering the price we paid.

As I was in my own last week I decided to treat myself to a fish supper. The fish was delicious but the server didn’t put any chips in the box, disappointing as the peas curry sauce was also very good. So I’ve got to mark down, sorry.

Hello we have just been to George's West Bridgford and along with our order we ordered a large mushy peas, when we got to where we ate them the peas was just a tub of green water with about 3 peas in........Comments please. Reserva una mesa ahora

The fish and chips at this restaurant are excellent. The chips are cooked quickly to a crispy, fresh perfection and paired with a perfectly golden brown piece of fish. Thank you for the fantastic meal, 5 stars!

A great chippy, we love it here The staff are happy to help and the catering area is super clean. We love coming for chips regularly
