"It was our first night in Le Grau du Roi and we were a bit late so most restaurants were very busy. Gepetto's is down a back street away from the sea and we managed to get an inside table. We had Pizza and salad which was good, but we didn't feel particularly welcome and so wouldn't go there again."

we are not really tourists as we are here 6 months of the year and just love to be here 'out of season' so 25th Jan it's hard to find places open but we chanced on this gem following a sort of recommendation and were not disappointed. Lovely welcome (owner has beautiful dog) and our choice of dishes was pretty much spot on - duck and lamb cutlets cooked on the wood fire were just perfect and veal with tagliatelle voted 'perfect'. Fresh bread and olives brought along with pre dinner drinks were fab and puddings were great too. Go for the cafe Gormand - you will not be disappointed! We shall be back! Note that there has recently been a change of ownership so maybe best to ignore previous revie...

The only good thing I could say about this restaurant is that the ingredients are fresh. It is very expensive for today's standards. When one pays for a normal sized pizza 16€ (the entry pizza marguerita costs 14) he usually expects the waitress to be equally dressed and not to wear beach clothes (snickers, jean shorts and T-shirt). The service was OK until I ordered the bill. Nowhere... I repeat NOWHERE in my life have I been told to get up and pay at the counter in the entrance. What business is this, a take-away coffee shop in the autobahn? This is supposed to be a restaurant! This also happened to the other customers, so I believe it's their policy. Never again

Great food, more then enough, reasonable price, kid's can have the complete menu at reduced price, friendly service, I had a great meal in this restaurant. I see some people complain about the dresscode of the personel, they might want to eat in an other city all together, le Grau du Roi is a rather popular location and one doesn't expect a "star restaurant dresscode" in these conditions. The restaurant has a friendly familliar atmosphere, and I will go back if I where in the neighbourhood again. The meat was great, and it was shown before cooking, I did not have a scale with me to check the weight but it was enough.

We were recommended this restaurant as it serves late (i.e. after 9.30pm)... but we got much more than we bargained for... Although the room is beautifully decorated, the service was slow, unfriendly and ultimately atrociously rude. When we went to pay, the manager asked if everything had been OK, and we said that the lasagna (charged at the tidy sum of 19.90€) was rather dry. He looked at us, and said "Well, what can you English, who turn lobster red on our beaches, possibly know about food?" Perhaps the real question what can "Mr. Gepetto" possibly know about the tourist industry...
