I was on the road driving for almost 2 hours and half. I stopped here because i really wanted to use the restrooms. I walked in and asked nicely if i could use them . The door had a sign restrooms only for customers, which i didn 't even see. the blond girl gave me the nastiest look ever.i would have appreciated it if she pointed me to the sign or simply said that restrooms can not be used or gave me more of a direction for the closest restrooms. I understand that every restaurant/cafè has their own policies, which i totally respect, but to treat a tourist like that is unacceptable. I haven 't tried the food , nor do i plan on doing so , the service enough was disgusting.
Will be coming back to work through the menu. EVERYTHING was delicious and the whole table shared food to get a taste!! Would recommend the morning after, DElish. It’s a small and cozy place. Staff was SUPER attentive and nice. Jessie was our server and did the best job!!
We have been visiting Lake Tahoe at least once a year for the past 14 years and we have breakfast or brunch at the Gateway Cafe every day. The food is consistently delicious and the staff is very friendly. One of my favorites dishes is the Cream of Mushroom special.
We live 5 minutes away and we’ve been here several times. Prices and portions are great. Food has ALWAYS been good and staff is sweet and remembers my son’s order. Cute cabin atmosphere. One of our favorite local spots.

This restaurant offers the best burgers, Benedicts, pancakes, music, and service in Lake Tahoe. It’s perfect for those with dietary restrictions and is very family-friendly!
This is such a wonderful spot in South Lake Tahoe. I’ve never been let down by any of my selections. The staff are incredibly warm and outstanding.
