Picked up an order of plain roti (which comes with curry and pickled onion) for less than $7 to go with supper I was making. The roti is perfectly cooked and the curry sauce is super flavourful with the tanginess that you’d expect from a great Malaysian curry. Atmosphere is cozy and quiet, and I’d definitely return for a quick lunch with some friends to try their combo meal, which includes roti and butter chicken. The family who runs Gian’s are sweet and the prices are awesome too. Not many places lately where you can get a lunch for less than $10! Highly recommend Gian’s Kitchen the Touton breakfast sandwich, it is sooo delicious! For brunch, i absolutely love the pad thai with tofu, the tofu is prepared perfectly, I added mushrooms in place of the meat and it was a satisfying substitute. The chef has a secret homemade Thai sauce with the perfect amount of spice and heat. If you like food on the mild side you can ask for less spice to accommodate your palate. I've had lunch at the new location in the Courtyard by Marriott hotel, and this food is amazing! I've had both the egg drop sandwich and the fried rice and Malaysian curry. Both dishes were excellent, incredibly flavoured and excellent portion sizes. The service is also excellent. Highly recommend! The artichoke dip was good but they have the worst pad Thai I ever had. Noodles in sweet Thai chili sauce from a bottle does not make pad Thai. And breakfast, granola parfait is not dry oatmeal and yoghurt. The servers were extremely friendly though.
