My friends and I were looking forward to our meal at Gibsons, but the overall experience was just OK. We had a 7pm reservation but did not get seated until 7:45. It was busy there but this is unacceptable, and I was embarrassed because I had suggested going there. We each ordered a drink, appetizers, shared sides, and each of us got the 10 oz filet mignon. The mashed potatoes were beyond salty but the rest of the food was OK. Bottom line, though, is I have had better meals at half the price, and probably won't go back. The one bright spot was our sever, Diana, who was great.
Roberto the waiter was fabulous. The food measured up especially well. We have dined at Gibson 's Oakbrook many times. This was the best experience in every way. I can 't call it a value , but the pricing is fair compared to similar restaurants. We dine at high end places a lot. Gibson 's in priced fairly for what they deliver. We were very happy. Again Roberto was superb. He made a big difference.
Food was a bit disappointing. Good starters (caprese and Caesar salads, both were large and enjoyable). WR Chicago cut steaks were disappointing for us both. Both were a bit too charred, a bit too over seasoned and mine was a bit tough. Sorry I didn’t choose the filet instead. Service was outstanding, impeccable, as it usually is.
Gibsons is a great place any celebration- ours was a 76th birthday and the birthday girl had never been there before and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. She totally loved the New England clam chowder and the crème burlee. But even her filet drew ooos and ahhhs!

Service was “over the top”good. We shared a shrimp appetizer, all had salads and split a prime rib entree and I enjoyed a hamburger. Sides of creamed spinach and hash browns were excellent. Complementary dessert due to a bday. Very nice touch.
The room we were in was noisy. Also the door to outside dining kept being opened and made the room cold.
Good food but overpriced. Only good for very special occasions or if on a company credit card.
Bobby was our server and highly attentive! Enjoyed our food and drinks! Love Gibsons :

Gibson's is always a home run. Their steaks are impeccable and service is great.
