We had been to Carindale many times and seen Ginga often. There were generally a few diners but never more than half full. Our 15yo son wanted sushi so it was time to give it a go. The restaurant was about a third full. There was very little variety of dishes on the conveyor and there were signs saying this is due to their desire to keep things fresh in quieter periods. Thursday night = busy night for most restaurants in Carindale shopping centre. Meaning you should be prepared for a good flow of traffic. Not here. Pretty quiet when we arrived. Waited to be seated. Took my friends order, but not mine. He food and drink arrived before I was able to ask for anything!Anyway, once I finally got the attention of a waitress with my excessive nose pointing, she came over and took my order. The food offered was nice enough and typical of most sushi train style restaurants, however there was quite a long wait for a menu ordered item in a non-peak time.$4 for a Coke is an ok restaurant price, but not when it is served in a 250ml glass with ice and that's it. I would expect at least a full can or realistically a 600ml bottle.In other sushi places if you ask for extra mayo they will give you a free sachet. Here they will order a plate of mayo and add .80c to your bill for it. Sure it's not going to break the bank, but when you are charging the earth for drinks you could certainly look after your customers elsewhere.
I visited here one Saturday afternoon and was not impressed.About half of the food on the tram was supposed to be hot but it was rock hard and had gone cold. Of course you have already bought the dish once you've removed it.Despite an impressive menu, there were about 6 to 8 items on the tram so the variety was poor.The staff seemed genuinely disinterested and bored.Avoid it.

The sushi on the conveyor were ordinary. The rice dishes ordered from the menu were also ordinary, at best food court standard. For the standard, the price is considered high. Sushi from $3.50 to $7.50, rice dishes were around $12.90 to $13.90. The staff were friendly but the orders took about 30 minutes to prepare during non peak time at around 4p.Won't be back
Been here a few times over the years but this will be last. Staff abrupt, and no idea in proper service standards. Food poor at best. One main arrived before entre, then second main 20 mins later. My chicken was stale, dry as though it had been reheated from yesterday. Cannot believe so busy give quality of experience!
The food was actually not as bad as I had expected given some of the other reviews. The kids loved the sushi and gyoza - lots of fresh ingredients - but the main dishes were nothing to write home about, lacking the flavour and spice of authentic Japanese dishes.
I love this place, I always place an order when I arrive and it doesnt matter how many dishes my family request the prompt delivery and service is excellent. The staff seat you quickly and are attentive, very tasty and fresh products, very clean restaurant

I came with my family Friday night ... The food on the train was old and lacking ... Half the normal portion size yet the same price ... Wouldn't come back
Would not bother expensive and terrible quality. Not a place to have sushi. The food was not fresh and service was not good.
