Gioia's Deli Creve Coeur

We just discovered this gem after living in St. Louis for nearly five years. I came across an ad in my email that mentioned it had won a James Beard award and that Ben had been featured on the Food Network for having one of the best sandwiches in the country. My wife and I finally made a visit. She ordered the spicy Daggett, while I went for the Porknado. Our first bites were met with wide eyes and a satisfied "mmmm." The sandwiches were hearty and large enough to share, though we definitely didn't want to! Haha. The meat was delicious, and even though the line stretched almost out the door, it moved quickly. Sandwiches are really great. As a Korean American, I make it a point to find the best Italian sandwiches wherever I go. This place is it for Stl. I haven’t been back because despite being high educated, I can’t spell or talk on my best days but it is pronounced close to “joy-ya” I think. I believe they sell hot salami frozen pizzas in local grocery stores and while I haven’t had it yet I think about it quite often late at night. Will keep y’all updated.

This was our first time here. The person taking our order was very helpful and helped us pick our sandwiches based on our input. They were great. We ordered the Spicy Daggett and the Spicy Salami. I split the spicy Daggett with my husband and he loved the sandwich too. Everyone that we interacted with was very friendly. Even the person packaging up our sandwiches was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back.

I don't like leaving negative reviews but...I had the hot salami and roast beef on garlic bread. I ate less than half of it before throwing it in the garbage. It gave me the burps as well...and every burp for the next 2 or 3 hours reminded me of how terrible it was. My wife ordered a different sandwich and was similarly disappointed because it went in the trash as well. Reserva una mesa ahora

Been to both locations. Best hot Italian sandwiches in St Louis. They operate with precision efficiency, staff is great, portions are generous and tastes like nothing else around. I highly suggest the triple Italian on garlic cheese bread. Prices are in line with all other good sandwich places.Food: 5/5

Best Sandwich you will ever eat, period. Hot Salami and Roast Beef on Garlic Cheese Bread toasted with Horsey sauce is my go to.Food: 5/5
