Unfortunately will not be ordering from here anymore. The food itself tastes good but almost everytime I have ordered something went wrong. The final straw was today when they didnt put my sandwich in the bag for our group order and when I drove back topick it up I tried complaining about it to the employees and they didnt say anything minus one of them laughing at me about it.I dont know what is so funny about having terrible service. I ended up just taking the soggy cold sandwich. Would be willing toorder again if they can hire compitent workers but until then I am avoiding this place.
I want to share that my first experience was at the Macklind location over a decade ago. Although I enjoyed it, I somehow overlooked it afterward. I was thrilled to find out about their Creve Coeur location, which is incredibly convenient for me. There's plenty of parking available. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I particularly enjoy the Big Italian sandwich (it has hot salami and pepperoni) served on garlic cheese bread. We won't mention calories, but I've made two visits in just a few weeks! I will definitely not forget Gioia’s again—it's such a fantastic sandwich.
Prefacing this to say that I'd been only once previously and it was at the Macklind location...at least a decade ago. Not that I didn't like it, I just somehow forgot about them. Sandwiches are really great. As a Korean American, I make it a point to find the best Italian sandwiches wherever I go. This place is it for Stl. I haven’t been back because despite being high educated, I can’t spell or talk on my best days but it is pronounced close to “joy-ya” I think. I believe they sell hot salami frozen pizzas in local grocery stores and while I haven’t had it yet I think about it quite often late at night. Will keep y’all updated.

Been to both locations. Best hot Italian sandwiches in St Louis. They operate with precision efficiency, staff is great, portions are generous and tastes like nothing else around. I highly suggest the triple Italian on garlic cheese bread. Prices are in line with all other good sandwich places.Food: 5/5

Their cotechino (hot salami) sandwich is to die for. Don't miss out on all their other delicious options too.
Really enjoyed the sandwich that I had for lunch. One of the best subs in town. I will definitely be back!
