We have been there several times and their food is delicious and very well prepared. Nonetheless, sometime during the month of September 2023, we went and I ordered a filet of fish (with the corresponding small 2 sides) for dinner. The dish was priced at around $27.00. I asked the server the kind of fish they were serving and to my surprise it was tilapia...to me, the worst fish in the market to eat. I was very surprised. I then asked them to substitute it for corvina (a higher quality of white fish) for $3.00 more. It was simply very good and I enjoyed it. The problem I had once it was served (and I was shocked) is that the fish portion was half a normal size filet, the kind you would serve...
We went here for my boyfriend's birthday week with his family. At first I was confused because it's an Italian/Hispanic blend. The service was great and they had a pianist there. The place was full of people singing getting up and dancing. That was the good part. Now what should be good wasn't. The food. We ordered mozzarella sticks and calamari for appetizers. The mozzarella breading had no flavor it just tasted like well bread. The calamari tasted over cooked and chewy. The breading was lackluster in taste. I ordered Giovanni's chicken and was so disappointed. The mashed potatoes were wayyyy too salty and had no flavor. The sauce was also lacking in flavor and tasted sour and just like sal...
I was introduced to this place by my best friend on my trip to Miami. He told me it was a hidden gem that’ll surprise me. Even with that, I was surprised by how much of a gem Giovanni’s truly was. The appetizer we ordered were empanadas with chicken and with beef, amazing. My wife ordered a steak that rivals those of 5 star steakhouses, it was the recommendation from my best friend. The tiramisu is of the highest quality as my wife and I have had difficulty finding high quality tiramisu where we live (Texas). The staff is very attentive and friendly. Great service, great atmosphere! The food was sooo bland, it didn't have any Italian flavors. I feel like Giovanni's is what happens when Cubans try to cook Italian food.. the fried Calamari appetizers' breading wasn't seasoned &the eggplant rolatini's either.. The marinara sauce for the apps was flavorless... The Garbanzo Soup was great! Very tasty! My $35 steak w/ mushroom Risotto w/ truffle oil was pathetic.. Dead food.. No life! The shrimp Risotto was too fishy, garlic and basil would've evened it out... Deserts were ok...The food at Giovanni's could be so much better... Reserva una mesa ahora

The staff opened the doors for us and greeted us warmly. Quickly sat us and we were very happy with our surroundings. The restaurant is very clean and tidy with great decor.
