The food at this restaurant is great, which is why I always stop here when I'm in the area. I highly recommend the meatball sandwich. I suggest using the drive-thru, as every time I eat inside, there are usually tables full of adults, including what appears to be the owner, who are constantly complaining and using foul language, making the dining experience unpleasant. Although I hesitated to share this review, I feel that as someone in sales, I should mention that despite my previous recommendations, I now advise people to use the drive-thru. This place has such high reviews ... I can't for the life of me figure out WHY based upon what I was just served. We tried the spaghetti and lasagna. The lasagna was DROWNED in a red sauce that was so sweet, it tasted like a dessert gone wrong. The sauce had NO flavor ... just acidic sugar. The lasagana itself was flavorless and the noodles were gummy. The spag/meatballs used the same sugary sauce. The flavor of the meatballs was decent but the texture was off putting very mushy and spongy. The garlic bread was burned and totally over coated with dried italian seasoning. I have been a customer at Giovanni's since I was 9 years old, and the food is still as amazing as ever. The staff is incredibly friendly and the sandwiches are far superior to any chain restaurant. Whenever I dine at Giovanni's, I always leave satisfied and usually with leftovers. I highly recommend trying the Giovanni Sub, with its delicious olive salad and real Mortadella. It’s just a little deli. My spaghetti was served on a styrofoam plate with a plastic fork. The sauce was pretty sweet. Meatballs were good. The garlic bread was regular sliced bread but the taste and texture were really tasty. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I did feel like I was rushed out. I thought they closed at 8:30pm but I felt like we were rushed out at 7:30pm. So maybe the hours were different than my phone app suggested? It was a Thursday night. Wonderful family owned restaurant. Everything we ordered was amazing. We ordered the Ruben, meatball sub, fried ravioli, and fried mushrooms. Staff was great and talk to us about the food.
