The restaurant seemed understaffed. We waited a long time for our plates to be cleaned from our table, after both courses. Multiple items were missing from the menu when we visited too. Some of our drinks were flat and, while they were replaced, the replacements were also under carbonated. Our celebration dinner wasn't much the fanfare we'd hoped. Having visited other chain restaurants we were expecting some sort of special birthday dessert or drink of some kind. Alas, nothing arrived and we paid our bill with some plates still on our table. I always love to come here when I come to meadowhall , the food was good as usual however I wasn't impressed with the hours wait for food. The waiter said there were issues but never told us how long we could be waiting for , he did apologise on a couple of occasions but I felt like we were left ages without any interaction or anyone coming to ask if we needed another drink. When food finally came about 10 minutes after my daughter had came we didn't even have cutlery on the table. I had the cod and chips, the fish was served hot and was lovely, my mushy peas were dried up and looked like they had better days. I would still give giraffe another chance and hope this was just a one off
I had some problems with my meal during my first Mother's Day celebration, and I left feeling very disappointed. The Korean BBQ chicken was covered in coriander, which is a strong flavor that wasn’t mentioned on the menu. I sent it back with feedback, but unfortunately, nothing changed. The mac and cheese arrived straight from the refrigerator and was cold. To their credit, they fixed this, and it came out piping hot after we had all finished our meals. I hoped the bill would reflect the inconvenience, but it didn’t. Additionally, the BBQ chicken had very little chicken on the plate, which felt like a bit of a rip-off. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
Having booked at table in advance, it was disappointing to arrive and be told there was no table available, so we had to wait a short while for one to become available. The restaurant was clearly busy, so took some time to take the food order and for the food to arrive. Food was tasty, but could have been warmer. Portion size was pretty small. Overall, it was OK, but seemed quite expensive. Won’t be rushing back.

We had an amazing experience at Giraffe Meadowhall! We took advantage of a fantastic deal with 50% off the main dishes, but the food was so delicious that I would happily return even at full price. A few weeks ago, we also enjoyed breakfast here without any promotions, and it was equally impressive. Giraffe Meadowhall has truly raised the bar!
The service was quite slow; it took 20 minutes for someone to take our order, and over an hour for our food to arrive, even though the restaurant was nearly empty when we needed...
We had a wonderful meal with excellent service. Although I found the lunch prices a bit high, we really enjoyed our food. We only ordered main courses since we were short on time.
This charming little restaurant is a great spot for a refreshing break while shopping, or it serves as an excellent place to grab a bite before heading to a movie.
