We went for lunch and, despite it not being crowded, it took an unreasonable amount of time for our food to be ready. Though there were no major mistakes with our orders, three women at the bar were having a conversation that was much louder than necessary, which was quite off-putting. We also noticed that many of the staff seemed to be more focused on joking and talking among themselves rather than attending to the few guests. Their antics even led to some glasses being broken at the bar. Fantastic place! Fun atmosphere at the bar and intimate/ romantic atmosphere in the back dining area. All of the items we had were delicious! the scallop appetizer was incredible, the ricotta gnocchi's were so good they just melted in your mouth, I got them in the home made fra diablo sauce which was spicy! the Crème brûlée was well worth calories. The drinks were so good, handcrafted and made to your liking. Sorry I don't have pics of the meals because we ate them too fast! Cannot wait to go back!
Service was excellent. Our waiter was really good. Food was great. My only issue was with the sauce. And realistically it's more of a preference thing maybe. The red sauce on my chop and pasta was basically tomato sauce. Not much flavoring went into it. I could tell as soon as I saw it. This didn't stop me from enjoying it. Just wish it was more seasoned. The sauce served with the calamari has more stuff in it.
I had a terrible experience at Giumarello's. When I addressed my concerns with the manager, they appeared indifferent and unaware of the issue. I was racially profiled and treated badly. While the food was good, the service was very poor. I ended up spending a lot of money on a disappointing visit. I recommend choosing one of the many better restaurants on Haddon Ave instead.
Can't complain about anything. The shrimp wrapped with pancetta app is awesome. The seafood de frutti in red sauce was fantastic. The sauce was good and left a nice spice on the back end. The lobster ravioli was light and delicious. Rice puddingwas also great. Service is beyond exceptional. Drinks are great too!
