Nice place to ho for a drink. Usually busy enough to have a nice atmosphere but not so busy you find it hard to get served. There is also a raised section in the bar where you can sit for something to eat. If you don't fancy sitting in the bar area they have an extension on the side where you can also dine. This part is made mostly of glass allowing you a bright area for eating and to see the picturesque view of the surrounding canal and wooded area. Unexpected find. Didn't even know it was there, it was our 29th Wedding Aniversary so my wife surprised me with lunch. What can I say? The premises has a bar area, small dinning area at the back and a large function suit. The restaurant didn't take long to fill up and the function suit was occupied for a birthday. The two waiters were very welcoming and took us to a table. The menu offer 2 for £12 or a more substantial offering we settled for the offer, but ordered cheese garlic bread and onion rings. The food was superb, piping hot and the side portion were enormous. One of best meals I've had.
The food at this restaurant is decent, but nothing too extraordinary. Like many pubs, they likely use pre-made food that is heated up before serving. If you want to order from their Christmas menu, you'll need to book in advance, probably to minimize food waste. The atmosphere is pleasant with a slight buzz, and I appreciated that well-behaved dogs are allowed in the bar area. The staff are friendly, but the prices are a bit high for the average quality of food you receive. That being said, I would still consider going back as I had a nice time during my visit.
Service was wonderful and staff were very friendly and helpful. However the food was incredibly disappointing, the pepper sauce lacked any pepper to taste and the fresh seasonal veg was neither fresh nor seasonal, it was clear the the peas and sweetcorn have come out of a freezer bag and so had probably the sliced carrot and all lobbed into a pan on the boil. I think if I had chosen a different meal it would have been better but please, if you're going to add vegetables at least put some effort into roasting a few carrots.

We went for a late lunch and brought our puppy with us, which was not an issue. The menu was extensive and our server, Jade, was delightful. Despite being quite busy, the service was good. We ordered a perfectly cooked sirloin steak, a delicious Glen Lusset burger, and gluten-free pasta. For dessert, we enjoyed a classic chocolate fudge cake and cheesecake, followed by coffee. Lovely menu plenty to choose from. Husband opted for steak and myself for chicken stroganoff . Both cooked to perfection and served piping hot and very tasty . Pleasant staff( who did check in to check food to our satisfaction and nicely furnished surroundings . Food very reasonably priced too. Enjoyed our visit . We will return.
Excellent pub/Restaurant Appointment at local Jubilee Hospital. Very disappointed at food at the Conf Hotel nearby. Found this gem. Food home made and first class. Not expensive. Good pub food menu. Nice atmosphere. Staff friendly and helpful. Wife had 2 crutches. Would highly recommend this pub/restaurant. Thanks to staff.
Had a lovely lunch after a long walk with my wife and pup. Fabulous service from the staff and the food was lovely. Combine that with a couple of pints and we didn’t want to leave. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back. Thanks.

I hadn't visited this restaurant in a while, but decided to stop by on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. I would be happy to have lunch here every day of the week.
