Food: mixed review The seafood items are all great. Chicken was great, chips are nice and fresh. Only complaint about the food is the burgers are cooked on too high of heat leaving them dry and overcooked often what I would consider burnt. The lobster Mac n cheese is very good, the crispy chicken filets were wonderful but need a bit of salt/pepper. Ribs are fantastic. Gumbo was good. Negative: no children 's menu or portions available Price: the price was not bad for the amount of food, but it is not rating. It 's more like as there are not any options really less than 10 and average is 12.95 with several dishes over 20. Cleanliness: very good five stars Service: mixed review: all staff except the one that waited on us were pleasant and inviting. The lady that waited on us had to have owned all or part of it given her arrogance and impatience. She did not listen and was so focused on being in a rush that she did not take our order correctly even though we asked her to check it. We ordered a burger with meat and cheese only which arrived with meat, no cheese, pickles, tomato , lettuce, and chutney. We ordered lemonades and revived diet 7up 's instead with aspartame. We ordered a ginger ale and got another lemonade aka diet 7up. But one of the others of our party did actually get the ginger ale they ordered. The woman was borderline rude and clearly either incompetent or careless. Other than that, things were great. I have no doubt that if we had a different server our experience would have been much better so I am rating this as if we had gotten good service.
My first meal in Scotland and Glencoe Cafe came thru. Situated in a small town off of A82, this cafe, pub, pizzeria, and restaurant has lots of vegetarian options on the menu. While they were out of many of them during our trip, we still thoroughly enjoyed the ones we had. The vegetarian haggis was surprisingly delicious. Having never tasted traditional haggis, this is not a comparison. We enjoyed the flavor and the consistency was a bit crumbly without being too mushy. The vegetarian pizza was solid, although a few too many vegetables included for my personal taste (I prefer pizza with two to three items). And the standard margherita pizza was a winner. The staff was friendly and the view from the deck was nice. If you're looking for a cute lunch stop tucked into the southern edge of the Highlands, Glencoe Cafe is a nice option as you travel through the rolling hills of Scotland.
Glencoe is a beautiful place and when the weather is in a good mood the views are amazing. The reason to be here is hiking! But when you're not and on your way in or out a stop at the Glencoe Cafe is definitely recommended. Some pastries and cakes, but also lunch, not the greatest selection but nothing else is to be expected. I had the hot warming soup awesome after a day out. Very friendy staff, homely feeling as well as free wifi.
