Philippe?s, in Downtown Los Angeles might have invented the French Dip Sandwich. I love that place. But, alas, Hope! The Glendon Grill eases the pain of separation. The quiet, country atmosphere, delicious food, great beer, and good service aren?t going to make me forget about my first French Dip experience, when I was nervous, and inexperienced. But eventually, the hustle and bustle of urban life is tiresome. I ate my French Dip so fast, I couldn?t take a picture. Great : food, beer Good: atmosphere Less great: the beers are about 6 oz. really. You CAN serve a man-sized beer. And that delicious sandwich could been bigger.
Love this service oriented, and very friendly neighborhood place that offers destination dining in an easy come as you are bistro bar. Try the Mango Mandarin Grilled Shrimp salad bountiful and balanced. Mild melty cheesy lump Crab flatbread, toasty and tasty, to share. Big surprise was a shared desert that 3 of us couldn 't quite finish Fresh Fruit Neopolitan, big fat swirls of the decadent creamy filling layered with ultra thin crisp wafers and ripe summer fruit. We started going to GG for the Burger Nights, been returning for the rest of the menu.
Party of 4, and we all were underwhelmed. I had a salad with beets, walnuts, goat cheese and chicken. The chicken was rubbery and looked pinkish. There was no goat cheese and maybe 2 small pieces of walnuts. It looked like they dumped a handful of spinach ? from a bag with really long tough stems, threw in a few tasteless beets and called it a salad. My husbands salad was equally lackluster. Our friends chicken piccata was “meh”, as was her husbands burger. Our waitress was very nice and efficient which was the only positive thing I can say
Glyndon Grill has a very good menu that does not overwhelm and offers a variety that is not the usual fare. The food is very good and reasonably priced for the quality offered. Our complaint last night was that our person table was too close to the larger corner table. So close we could easily hear their conversation and we were bumped into several times as people, including the server got into and out of the area.

Wife and I stopped for dinner tonight, Saturday at 6:30. They were very busy and there was a small waiting period between appetizer and entree. The waiter apologized for inattentiveness, but I watched and it wasn't his fault. Many shops go in and out. Glyndon Burger and French Di were great. Limecake like we were in the keys.
We recently had the chance to give them a try for lunch and decided to book our Valentine's Day dinner there. It was a nice menu and a solid service. We look forward to tasting some of their dishes in the future!
Busy place last night with holiday parties. Service was a bit slower than usual but the waitress did a good job of keeping us informed. Good local place to eat.

A neighborhood drop-in for us. Last might was extremely busy due to restaurant week. However, food and service still as good as usual.
