Dim sum is ordered by marking choices on a menu sheet, which you then hand to the staff. I’m not certain if there’s an English version of the menu, as ours was in Chinese, but I’m sure the staff would be happy to assist with translations if needed. The quality of the dim sum here is comparable to, or even better than, many places in London’s Chinatown. One highlight is the Yolk Bun, which is hard to find elsewhere in London. Go Sing offers an "all you can eat for one price" deal, but instead of a buffet, you can repeatedly order from a menu of nearly 100 dishes. This system is probably less wasteful than traditional buffets, as it allows you to sample the exact dishes you want. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure our tea cups were always filled. We started with half a crispy duck to share, and my American friends generously allowed me to enjoy my favorite part—gnawing the bones! You really can't go wrong with crispy duck. Next, we tried a selection of starters, and the highlight was definitely the squid in salt and chili batter. The squid was tender, and the batter was crunchy and full of flavor....
We decided to have dinner here because the pub we originally intended to visit only served food until 4:00 PM on Sundays. We were pleasantly surprised by the service, the cleanliness, and the quality of the dishes we ordered. Coming from Vancouver, where we have excellent Chinese restaurants, I was a bit skeptical at first. However, Go Sing did not disappoint!
I had dinner here last night based on recommendations from a few people at the pub across the street. Since we had been traveling for 20 hours and were extremely hungry, we opted for the £19 all-you-can-eat option. We enjoyed crispy seaweed, dumplings, egg fried rice, crispy duck, and curried prawns. I'm on vacation this week and unfortunately came down with a bad cough. I decided to try Go Sing, which was conveniently located near my hotel by the airport. I ordered some soup to take out, but to my shock, I found a fingernail in it. It was absolutely horrific, and I think that explains why I’m giving it such a low rating.
