Went for lunch. This restaurant is located in the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, and overlooks the Clyde River, so has a lovely ambience. The food was excellent, with choices of Asian style dishes for $9.50, and popular Australian meals for $10.50. I had garlic prawns with rice... very tasty, while my other half had a Veal schnitzel, served with chips and salad. Order and pay at the register, and the meal is brought to the table for you.Great meals with lots of choices for lunch. Will go there again when in the area.
We dine there regularly - and love it. The Asian dishes are divine. I travel regularly, including to China town in the heart of Melbourne, and seldom do I find Asian food as good as that found at the Gold Po Loy. No MSG, not stacked with onions and other cheap fillers - just great authentic Asian dishes beautifully cooked and wonderfully presented. Try the sizzling dishes - my favourite is Szechaun combination. Yummy. Tell them Bill sent you!
Visited the Soldiers Club for a meal. Not a lot to choose from unless you choose to have Chinese or Thai. The meals are a decent size but not awfully flavoursome. Luckily I checked mine before eating as I had asked for no egg and I had egg right through it. They replaced it but it was a bad mistake in this day and age. The staff are helpful and it is a cheap meal.
I love asian food. Good asian food, and particularly really good asian food. I regularly dine in chinatown in Melbourne, and ocassionally in Sydney. I have yet to find an asian restaurant anywhere which is as consistently good as Gold Po Loy. We dine there once a week, and just love it. Never had a bad meal yet, and staff are fantastic.

We had meals from the Bistro side of the menu - best fish we have had in a long time. Service was quick and friendly, and prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back.
We eat here regularly as the food is great and very reasonably priced. Service is quick and efficient and the views over the water are a pleasant addition to a relaxing meal.
great meal, loved the fried rice and the rest of the meal was awesome, great service will definately visit again when we are staying in the Bay

Restaurant can get quite busy and food is mostly pretty good with waitresses giving table service. Beautiful views over the harbour.
Great platter . Will defiantly come back again fast service. Will bring more friends and good value for money
