Been eating here for a long time. Reminds me of some of the places I used to eat in trips to SF where you only hear Cantonese being spoken and the menu and tickets will have Chinese characters as well as English. It's one of the few places where you can get actual Ma La where the Sichuan peppercorn will actually give you some numbness. The hot n sour is extremely good here as well. I also snapped a shot of some take out beef in garlic sauce because it's insanely addicting. They have scallion pancakes and the pot stickers are huge, unlike their gyoza counterpart like one might expect. Update Jun 25: Still excellent and cheap. Update Nov '23: They finally raised the prices ever so slightly. I am beginning to suspect this restaurant is sponsored by a Sino-American friendship fund. How else could the food quality, ample portion size and low price have been maintained? The only downside is having to choose which of the excellent dishes you will have. I eat here at least three times per week. Vegetable, chicken, shrimp all well prepared. To reduce fat and sodium, I asked for very little oil and very little sauce. They always prepare perfectly. The dining room is non-fussy, locally owned, been in business for years, Chinese motif. It just feels right.
I ordered by phone because we had questions. Person answered all our questions with enthusiasm and was happy to help. We had general Tso chicken and I love that you can customize the heat we got medium it was fantastic. Also pork fried rice was fresh and tasty lots of veggies in it. Green bean chicken was amazing Green beans were a little crunchy sauce was delicious chicken was cooked perfectly portions were large 2 of us sharedand still had left over . We picked up waited just a few minutes for help only 2 people in dinning area eating there food looked good too. We will definitely be back again.
This is the best Chinese food I know of this side of the bridge . Everything is always fresh like the fried rice made to order and the bbq pork which is always moist and never dry .
