Disappointed on this visit , previously been here several times and had a nice experience but this time was not good , we were sat near the toilets which you could slightly smell , a customer came in and sat down with 2 dogs on leads which kept barking really dogs in an area where food is served different if it was a guide dog .When ordering food from the menu was told sorry we haven't got that today several items .When getting our desert we ordered banana waffles , well the waffle was like a rock , we complained and was told they must have been in the microwave for a long while ??? , They was changed for better ones.Overall very disappointed and will not be going back for some time if at al...
my man and I used the fleece when we were 45 years ago in court and it was the one in the pub at the time especially in summer. we or of course have used it over the years and experienced many changes. what I have to say is the greeting, as always, how warm and friendly of all the various staff who have come and gone. When my mother came by, I did not hesitate to arrange the wake on the fleece. again the employees were best nothing was much effort and the buffet was excellent. on such a sad day we would not have asked for better these. I thank you all, we hope that the fleece will survive another 45 years.
I visited this pub for 4 years alone while I lived in manor park (where I had never lived) and I must have the pub in the last 18 months pre post covid was fantastic. the personal is welcoming, the atmosphere is great at the weekend and it is a great location next to wanstead flats in summer. it is a pub and that is what you should expect, nothing is perfect, but with the quizs, live music from time to time, showing the football/sport in general and friendly regular this pub was a great place to be. I would recommend on several levels
Roast was dry, Yorkshire pudding was flat as a pancake. Mac n cheese side order was probably the most horrific thing I’ve eaten grey in colour, extremely salty and no evidence of cheese inside. One of the toilets had no soap. However, staff were friendly and we could bring our dog. Location also right next to Wanstead flats so had a good walk afterwards.
This is one of my favorite places in London, they have a lovely, clean and comfy place, very good food and the best part is that the staff can make your day, they are really nice and beautiful people, especially Madalina. It's a lovely place to go and spend time with family/friendsThank you for all!
