I found this place by chance. It was my first night ever in Germany; a business trip brought me to Deggendorf for a much too short stay. The Stadtplatz seemed like a good place to start, and I chose the Goldener Engel because it looked good Not speaking German myself, my waitress was wonderful by speaking English as well as she could (she knew enough and pantomimed the rest!), and then found a menu for me translated into English. She was able to recommend traditional fare I'd like and special beer. Her help was perfect.I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Food was hot, beautifully presented, plentiful and delicious. We were staying nearby at the Schloss Egg and decided to drive to Deggendorf for dinner. After a brief walk through the central pedestrian only downtown core, we settled on this lovely little restaurant, Goldener Engel (Golden Angel). The menu was only in German, and the staff spoke very little English and my German is sub-par, but we were able to communicate enough to ask the waiter to bring us some traditional Bavarian dishes that he recommended. After we sipped some local red wine and a nice local Moos Ale, our waiter presented us with a hearty portion of Schnitzel Bratkartoffeln and some very tasty Bratwurst. Whether you need a restaurant for business meals, or a great meal between friends, when in Deggendorf this is the place to come to! The food is to a high quality, with many local dishes and a good variety. The prices are extremely reasonable. The restaurant is situated right in the centre of Deggendorf, allowing easy access. good, but not for the tourist. no English or menus in English. we had a very good dinner, but had to choose what we could translate ourselves, and the Bc menu uses a cursive font that was hard to translate. the price is ok people

who wants traditional Bavarian cuisine is right here. Wonderful ambiente, great eating. best restaurant of all time! if it is nice, you can sit outside and watch the people who walk past. I have come back
