what a wonderful terrace in the sun, I thought when I saw the restaurant with about 15 people with smiling faces. when I sat with a friend at a free table, we wanted to enjoy this moment. After we ordered our drinks...and asked for menus, we waited 15 minutes until the unique waitress brought us. Once our courts were selected, we waited for almost an hour. then we chose the manager and explained that such a non-existent service is unacceptable for a 4star hotel restaurant. the only answer we received was: I'm sorry. the lack of speaking English or French was a real problem. for the recordings we have only asked for the brittle Pasta-Pilz risotto on the menu. nothing extravagant, which requires a long preparation, and also not of exceptional quality. on the neighboring tables came the people, sat and left without being served by the lack of service. other customers started complaining and the people went in to take them over their orders. the poor waitress who served the terrace almost alone could not do anything anymore. it is sad that owners/managers cannot stay in the making of their restaurants a place where people can enjoy. no commercial gestures, no real consideration of our accusations. do not try to enjoy mediocrity.

We almost didn't expect to find a restaurant of this calibre in a hotel that is otherwise slightly outdated. Gastronomic quality food, different dishes every evening, including some interesting local touches (e.g. game meat from the local mountains), warm and pleasant service. A true find...in Riederalp!

try the custom steak tatar. it's a must! the waiting service is attentive, eating is great (probably a large cook) and the wine cellar is very attractive. next to large local Valais wines you will find legendary like californian papillon.

We went here with a large family group and were very pleasantly surprised at the friendly and efficient service, the variety and quality of the food, the presentation.

they charge them 5 francs on water, even if they have ordered meals for 150 Swiss francs plentiful waiters, eat pretty good. we have ordered
