Gothisches Haus - Reservar una mesa

We had high hopes for this restaurant given the reviews. The menu had a few vegetarian choices, I chose pumpkin soup and pumpkin ravioli. The soup was really lacking in flavour, it was incredibly bland which was disappointing as it looked great. The ravioli filling was delicious but the pasta (where knotted) wasn't cooked as it was so thick something i didn't expect given the caliber of this restaurant. The wine was vastly overpriced but that goes with the territory. Whilst our male server was pleasant he did forget to serve the wine to everyone on the table again something i don't expect. We also complained that we were cold and the door was closed, but then it was re opened as afire door....

On our way back to Denmark from a vacation in Italy, we stopped over in Wernigerode. Following Tripadvisor's recommendation we went to Gotisches Haus for our dinner, and I dare say we did not regret! We were welcomed by our waiter who saw us through an excellent 3-course dinner with expertise and great service. We followed his recommendations from the wine list and spent a very pleasant evening with fine food and wine and wonderful service. We will certainly visit this restaurat again if we revisit Wernigerode.

This is an upscale hotel with a beautiful interior with a huge glass roof and wood carvings. The service is formal and impeccable. The Rindburger I tried was excellent as the Dim Sum Starter. The food cannot be missed, but the atmosphere was not sociable for a romantic relaxing dinner. The tables were too close together and the lighting is bright. Minor changes would solve this. The bill for 2 with beer and wine came to €100 such a expensive night out.

Very varied and beautifully designed breakfast. Delicious products and one of the best baked bacon. I recommend this breakfast to everyone.
