Bad experience during our visit to Cambridge. We ordered three burgers and waited long enough to get the orders on the table. Burgers came totally burned and tasted horrible. We complained to the staff and were shocked to hear that the grill was not cleaned which led to burned burgers. We never expected GBK to go so low on quality and customer service. The staff seems to be lacking motivation and were least bothered. Only one chef who was working in the kitchen which increases the turnaround time. Hygiene of the restaurant was also very poor and felt we should have chosen some other restaurant. Would never recommend anyone to visit this GBK restaurant. Was there on a Sunday night, hoping to get a quick dinner. But I guess that was the wrong day to visit... the staff seemed running behind in term of orders and some of them were steaming away for a while... The young waiter at the counter also prepared the drinks and serve orders... he was quite honest with a few patrons about the wait for food, and apologized so many times that I was actually feeling bad for him. When the food finally came, it was actually not bad at all... so really hope whatever troughs they met that day they could overcome it soon.
quite disappointed in this branch as i'm very loyal to gbk and their burgers. first time coming to this branch. ordered two mightys and both were not cooked medium rare as ordered, and looked burn so i re- ordered and it was worse, the bacon was burnt too. if i'm paying nearly 20£ per person, i expect my order to be cooked correctly. onion rings were slightly over cooked too, fries were good. chicken tenders and wings were great. server seemed lazy. big respect to the ealing branch, they always get everything right.
The burgers are, by UK standards, very good. On a par with a French Burgerking. We nearly didn't have any, because we were told that we had to order using a QR code which loaded so slowly that we decided to leave. I told the kitchen staff why we were leaving, and they took our order at the till. We paid, returned to our table and had drinks delivered before the menu arrived on my phone. This ordering method does not work unless you have fast free wifi available. I will not be eating at this chain again.

We were seated and given our drinks quickly but soon realised there were quite a few tables waiting for their food we decided to leave after about 30mins after no service (note the other tables were all leaving and complaining about their undercooked food). The manager was totally useless and took no responsibility, leaving the one server to take all complaints. They were prioritising takeaway orders over the present customers so don’t recommend!!!
Although I was told I could apply a student discount, I was unable to and had to pay full prices, which already weren 't cheap to begin with. All ordering is done through an app which you have to give your email address to in order to 'create an account ', which was time-consuming and obviously detracted from the otherwise friendly, personable atmosphere. Food was nice and came pretty quickly, but frustrating re the student discount.
GBK used to be one of our favourite places to eat. I loved the naked burger and salad. Not anymore. The burger itself is nothing special now and what has happened to the salad with pomegranate dressing? Now all you get is lettuce. On the day of our visit there were too few staff. One lovely server trying to do everything except the cooking. Overpriced and disappointing.
If i could give zero stars, i would! The service was abysmal, marked by a rude waitress and an exasperating 45-minute wait for our food, only to be served completely burnt burgers. It was a total waste of time and money

Amazing service, the waitress Jess was so nice, also recommend oreo milkshake and it was amazing. Food was superb, definitely recommend
Really like the classic vegan BUT IT IS ALMOST ALWAYS OUT OF STOCK!
