Grand Café al Porto

I can recommend the pastry shop but not the restaurant / coffee shop. there are better, friendlier and cheaper places nearby.Going for morning tea I asked for the Darjeeling, priced at chf 4.20 for a cup or chf 5.20 for a portion meaning in a pot. I only wanted a cup but a pot arrived (barely half full with water) but fair enough I didn't specify so even though the waiter could have asked me, he didn't. However because the tea bag was served on the side and the water was no longer boiling the tea was not drawing and so I asked for another tea bag which was bought after a wait of several minutes. And the tea room was not even a quarter full.I was therefore really surprised when I saw the bill...

This is a beautiful Café in a historic location. I have come here several times, only to be disappointed each and every time! Service is appalling: Waiters are unfriendly and arrogant and seem set on foisting the most expensive item on the menu on you. This is unacceptable in any Café, but particularly so in an establishment that markets itself as refined and classy. Pastries are good, but have them to go!

A wonderful and distinctive place located in the middle of Lugano city centre. It is a classic cafe and they have various options for lunch and they have snacks, cakes and sweets. The staff is friendly and I recommend visiting the place.

I had breakfast, the staff was friendly and the omelet was delicious. I heard that panettone bread with chestnuts is famous, so I bought it and tried it. It was a little sweeter than Korean chestnut bread and had a very fluffy texture! Reserva una mesa ahora

Great place for coffee and cake or even a small breakfast. Service was great! They also serve lactose free milk for those in need of a cappuccino. Historical and special.
