We tried Grandma’s twice a few years ago and never came back. Breakfast was a couple of eggs on a plate with bacon. Not very appealing. We decided to try it on Mother’s Day and were very pleased. Most impressive was Samantha. She was super upbeat, greeted everyone in a very sincere way with a friendly smile. The waiter, Nick was sincerely friendly and the entire staff was anxious to please. Samantha was on top off everything. I would have tried to hire her if I still owned my business. She’s a gem. My only criticism was the hash browns weren’t very good and your prices are a little high. Overall, a good experience. Maybe off a loyalty program for more regular customers that can reduce prices.
Both this restaurant and we’re founded in Charles town, West Virginia and then moved to Raleigh/Wake Forest. It’s so great to see a West Virginia restaurant branch out and spread the homely and welcoming behavior that is expected from West Virginia. Our waiter Jack, was awesome. The food was great. All I wish is a little more WV decor (possibly “races and slots” decor) to remind me of home. Thank you all and I will definitely be returning here.
Good honest food with a main focus on breakfast. It's not a big fancy chain , it hasn't spent all it's money on decor and advertising , it is exactly as you would expect , comfy , easy , tasty. At some point I will venture out of my comfort zone which is the grandad's big breakfast as I've sampled a lot of the others but it's hard to say no when it hits the spot. Prices are reasonable , parking is easy , well worth a trip.
