I wanted to share my disappointment with our recent visit. We arrived just as the clock struck 7 PM, thinking you'd be open until 9 PM, as listed on Google. We drove all the way from Warwick specifically to try your homemade ice cream. However, as we approached the counter, the lights were turned off. I knocked on the window to ask if we could still get ice cream for our family of four—two adults and two children. One staff member kindly opened the window and seemed willing to assist us, while another staff member came over, stated that you were closed, and then shut and locked the window while I stood there with my 4 and 6-year-olds. Iconic! They offer a fantastic variety of flavors, and the waffle cones are simply amazing! The portion sizes are generous; I ordered a small, which was just perfect for me. A large might be a bit excessive for most people. Just so you know, my 6-year-olds wanted two flavors, so we got a large, and it ended up being the size of their heads—I'm not complaining, just sharing the info! Prices are reasonable, and they do accept card payments. I will definitely keep coming back!
If you enjoy having your ice cream cone handled by disinterested teenagers who don’t wear gloves, then this is the spot for you. Get ready for a Walmart-quality cone experience. What a disappointment compared to Grays. As a local, I found this place to be a letdown. I’ll give it two stars for nostalgia, but otherwise… it deserves none.
As other reviewers have pointed out, the ingredient list is dominated by various types of gum. Guar, xanthan—this is basically a cream made from gum. Does your cream taste excessively gummy? As for the ice cream, it was smooth and flavorful, but I couldn’t find anything that made it stand out. In a blind taste test against convenience store samples, I doubt I would have been able to identify it as homemade. Nonetheless, I didn't feel the need to throw it away, so it's worth giving it a try.
