In terms of logistics, parking at Great Jones can be a bit tricky depending on the time of day, but we had no trouble finding a spot on a Sunday. The restaurant also catered well to families, with a separate children's menu and activities to keep the little ones entertained. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant overall.

Unfortunately, we were unable to dine at this restaurant, which is incredibly frustrating considering we drove all the way from Tollymore Forest Park specifically. Despite their menu and website indicating that they open at 5pm, they were closed. This is why we have given them a single star rating. It seemed like they didn't care about inconveniencing us at all, simply dismissing it as bad luck. This experience occurred on Saturday, September 23rd. Meal type: Other.
Lovely restaurant on the Main Street of Newcastle with nice decor, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. They have a separate vegan and vegetarian menu with three clearly marked vegan starters, three vegan mains and a vegan dessert. I went for the bruschetta to start which was lovely and then the red lentil falafel tacos for main which were a show stopper. Would heartily recommend.
The food at GJ is incredibly delicious. We started with the superfood salad and the soup of the day, which were both excellent. For our main courses, we tried the tacos and vegan burger, both of which were delicious. They also have a good selection of wine and beer. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The lentil falafel tacos were delicious, and they were the only vegan option available. Unfortunately, they did not have a vegan burger, only a vegetarian option. My vegetarian partner ordered the veggie burger, which seemed to be a Linda McCartney mozzarella burger.

I would definitely come back to this restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely and the food is delicious. The only downside is that the service is a bit slow.
