Green Lantern Lunch

Ive been told to come here for years and finally did...I saw they had a fried bologna sandwich and decided to go for that with a small bowl of chili. I was disappointed in both items. The fried bologna sandwich was only cooked on a flat top for about five minutes- far too quick...and served on regular white bread. The bologna was only mildly charred and still cold raw pink in the middle. The cheese on top was just a cold American slice with no melt effort to it. The chili was...well pretty terrible for a Toledo spot. Bland and lifeless. Basically tomato sauce seasoned with chili powder, salt, maybe a little allspice or nutmeg, and ground beef and beans. Every neighborhood use to have a diner or two like this. Home cooked,freshly prepared by people who live in the same area as thier customers,folks that care about about thier product.Green Lantern Lunch is a throwback that's never left. Simple menu,great prices,and friendly service. I had the Handy Andy burger with fries,and I think I found my new favorite burger in Toledo. The meat was seasoned perfectly, the veggies were crisp,and the bun held up bite for bite. Couldn't ask for better fries either. I'll be back to try more too

I finally decided to bike down here early in the morning and man, it was worth it. Classic small down diner feel in Downtown Toledo. Big coffee mugs, big breakfast plates, and a top-tier staff. I would of loved to step back each decade and visit this place and people watch. Places like this are the keystone to the community

My favorite diner in Toledo. Amazing bc it used to only be open till 2 but now it's open till 8pm. I have eaten almost every item on the menu and everything is amazing. You can't go wrong.
