Greiffenegg-schlössle

The best location in Freiburg, but what a disappointment! On the Schlossberg above the Schwabentor is this beautiful castle-like property with a panoramic terrace, large and small valleys and good gastronomic facilities. Via a wooden bridge you reach the busy Schlossbergring and reach the castle either with two lifts or well-mounted walkways. From there you have the most spectacular view of the city centre of Freiburg in the west or the Wiehre in the south. They sit very cozy and can enjoy the panorama or picturesque sunsets. For a long time, Mr Schlegel has been offering a Sunday brunch, in this situation certainly obvious and in principle pleasing. Unfortunately, neither the offer nor the service could meet the expectations raised by the ambience. The heated coffee was unusable, the bread selection was very clear, grain and buffet sweet and not fresh despite clearly good use. A light view not only for the small guests is the chocolate fountain with fresh fruits. But even the warm food offer could not convince. The fried salmon on spinach was taste-neutral, the ravioli drowned in boring cream sauce. At any rate, the service went past our table because the beautiful professional clothing does nothing.

I was invited here to a Wihnacht party of my company. The restaurant is very nice and you have a fantastic view of Freiburg. It looks particularly beautiful when it is already damming. The restaurant is a first-class restaurant. The greeting of the personla was very friendly. Aromatic champagne, champagne with orange juice or alcohol-free cocktails were served as welcome drink. Since I had to drive, I took an all-cohol-free cocktail that is highly recommended. The reserved space has already been designed and the places had enough distance from each other. The food was in buffet form. There were 3 different types of meat, fish and vegetarian. There were rich vegetables and rice, noodles, potatograin and bread. There was also a tedious selection for Dessert. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is willing to spend more money for really good food.

The beer garden of the Greifeneck Schlößle, also known as chestnut garden, is surely one of the most beautiful in Freiburg. The seats at the tables at the fence overlooking the old town are therefore particularly desirable and always full. But also from the second row you can see a beautiful sunset here. Most of the time, in beautiful weather, you have to stand in line with its drinks, and this is not quite cheap. Good situation wants to be paid; sometimes you come to your drinks faster if you want to eat something. The food is okay, but not excellent. You get a pieper when you order something to eat at the self-service desk (in the beer garden there is something to eat everywhere, and you are discovered when it is done and you can pick it up. That works well. The food could be better, otherwise I really find this beer garden.

From Schlössle you have a wonderful view of the entire old town. It is really nice to drink a cool drink in the beer garden with summer sunset. The prices are also fine for the panoramic view. There's nothing at the staff. It is definitely worth coming here.

For the first time, you must mention that the ambience is very large! The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and it was fast after the order on our table. The dishes on the map are plentiful and it should be there for everyone.
