Grotto-distilleria Ronco Bianchi

Food is really good. BUT these guys are not transparent in pricing. PRICES ARE NOT THE SAME IF THEY RECOGNIZE YOU AS TOURIST. They will always suggest things that are not in the Menu or even act that some of the stuff in Menu is ‘sold-out’ and then suggest smth else our of Menu and give it an “ASTRONOMIC” price. I am so disappointed that after such a good food you get ripped off. The waiter just wrote stuff by hand in a “paper-bill” and that’s it. You don’t get a printed official invoice. I think people deserve to know the price of a pasta plate with few truffle on it, if you charge it CHF 42 (that’s not a main dish). Unfortunately I would never go there. I feel stolen!

This is an absolutely fabulous place. This is our 3rd visit, if it hadn’t been for covid it would be our 6th visit, and as usual the staff were magnificent. The food was excellent and I would highly recommend it. Who ever has given this place a one star review should take a serious look at their own drug/drink problems. Yes it’s expensive, it is Switzerland, but it’s well worth it for the place, food and the staff. Don’t order a taxi though as it’s about half the cost of the meal. I look forward to my next visit and hope it’s sooner than a year away.

I booked a nice table (upstairs) and finally or a table in the basement in a cheap room with no ambiance.. such a shame!!! We used to go there every 4-5 months but this time was the last one !!! They were so arrogant and even told us it is the best table…

I didnt like it. Too expensive for the tyoe of service. Parking is a bit distant and up a hill. Ladies careful of your heels you can break your neck walking out of restaurant. No lighting.

Grotto Antico is the place to be if you want to taste real Ticinese food. Great staff and feel like being at home. We can only recommand this jewel. Simply Delicious.
