At the Grotto Eremo San Nicolao we first met wonderful people, Roberto and Letizia were really welcoming and kind. Lunch was really excellent, quality ingredients well enhanced by the kitchen that reflect the tradition of the area. The service was also great, fast, kind and never intrusive. Everything was embellished by the splendid hermitage in which the restaurant was born, a small monastery from the 1400s set in the rock of which Roberto told us its history and secrets. From the restaurant there is a beautiful view of the whole plain below. In short, much more than a mountain restaurant, I highly recommend it. Posto stupendo nel verde,con una bella storia alle spalle, ed una cappella del 1400 abbellisce l 'ambiente. Hanno un posticino per fare una cena romantica solo una coppia.... Restaurant located on the slopes of Monte Generoso. Stunning view of the mendrisiotto. We stopped for lunch. Family environment where courtesy and competence are at home. The polenta with game stew and the polenta with mushrooms are excellent. Desserts to report; the special house cake and the bread cake are exquisite. Honest prices.
