We were traveling through and had read about this place. Followed the signs and were convinced we were lost as we started going off-road, but finally came across it tucked away in the mountainside. I was welcomed at the car park by a friendly dog, and the greetings by the staff upon entering were just as warm. The kids enjoyed playing bocci while we sipped on some great local wine from Ticino surprisingly great single-varietal Merlots) and the food was delicious. Keep in mind they only take cash, so bring Swiss francs! I had forgotten, and in spite of the staff being accommodating and offering to let me pay the next day, I was able to do a bank transfer into their account...which they seem t...
Se ordini un piatto di tagliatelle,gia'speri che siano come minimo di pasta fresca, invece ti portano delle linguine e ti dicono che sono tagliatelle (forse hanno sbagliato mestiere perche'almeno distinguere una tagliatella da una linguina sarebbe auspicabile da una cuoca!! ,vabbe'mangiate anche perche'avevo una gran fame e non era male il sugo ...se non fosse che il conto e'stato troppo esagerato per un piatto di pasta un bicchiere di vino acqua caffe'...quasi 30 franchi,mi sembra tanto visto che la pasta non era neanche fatta in casa.Vabbe'diciamo che sicuramente merita la location: in estate puoi mangiare nel bosco, ma se fosse per la cucina lo sconsiglio.
what can i say about this remarkable grotto. First of all i was wearing high heels and had to walk from the parking area to restaurant that was 800 metres but i did it... as i was reaching the grotto i was mesmerized on the location. breathtaking. A grotto in the middle of the woods WOW WOW WOW amazing. The walk back to the car once again was very enjoyable as it was dark and we had to use our phone light but a memorable evening. Will definitely return.
You have to look for it and it’s not easy to get there by car, but it’s how a real grotto used to be. Tables are arranged under big trees and you can enjoy the breeze in hot summer days and a great view over the southers tip of lake Lugano. Letzte 800m vor Restaurant mussten wir zu Fuss gehen da die Strasse durchs Dörfchen sehr eng ist, dafür aber herzlicher Empfang in der offenen Küche des Grotto. Sehr feines, deftiges hausgemachtes Tessiner Essen mit grossen Portionen zu reellem Preis... wir haben das Nachtessen sehr genossen...und kommen gerne wieder.
