When we inquired about watching the National High School Lacrosse Finals, he quickly set it up on a nearby TV—there are plenty throughout the restaurant! The Grumpy Goat offers a diverse menu featuring appetizers, burgers, salads, pizzas, and pastas, ensuring there's something for everyone. We ordered side salads, almond-crusted chicken (which was delicious, crispy, and generously portioned), and a 16-inch pizza (half of which we took home). The food was good. The server was great! Never had to ask her for anything. BUT the woman’s bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Floors looked they hadn’t been mopped in weeks. While sitting in the stall the plastic cover to the toilet paper kept falling down into my lap. I tried washing my hands, put soap on them, tried to turn on the faucet and to my surprise no water came out. Moved over to the second faucet same thing.. and just my luck No paper towels. Very disappointing.A restaurant can have good food and great service BUT if the bathrooms are as gross as these you won’t get a high rating from me.

Easily one of the worst places to eat. The prices are very close to $20.00 per sandwich. I get that it is open concept with the walls but when its 85* and flies all over the place it makes for uncomfortable dining experience. We were constantly shooing flies off our plates and ended up not finishing anything and leaving. 3 people, 3 sandwiches and an appetizer and our bill was $98.00. Des Moines has much better options for that price point.

We started with the Mozzarella cheese bites, which were fried to perfection, and they came with ranch and marinara for dipping. My wife ordered pancakes and eggs with a side of bacon, which she found to be very good. I opted for the chicken dish, which had a nice kick to it. I loooove coming here, even though I dont really care for sports bars, this place has such a great vibe and atmosphere, I don't even pay attention to the TVs. Our waiter Brandon was fantastic!!! Funny, quick, attentive, and accommodating (my meal, wasnt technically on the menu), and he made the best Arnold palmer ever!! Its a must try for the whole menu!!

We were here at 7:15 and ordered right away 8:25 we FINALLY got our food. Not sure if the owner is the old man that doesn't do anything but that's probably why it operates the way it does. Absolutely the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. I live in. Very small town and have seen our restaurants more packed and never there for more than an hour!

I had never been to this restaurant before, but I definitely plan to return. My sister and her family, who live in the Des Moines area, visited for the first time and they've already gone back. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and they strictly adhere to all COVID guidelines. My niece particularly enjoyed the 80s music they played!

We really enjoy eating here when we are in town visiting. The menu has sooooo many good options. We love the environment with the indoor/ outdoor feel. The wait staff is friendly, attentive, and approachable. 10/10 Wish we had one in our town!Food: 5/5 Reserva una mesa ahora

I really enjoyed this place! We had a leisurely afternoon and found it to be a great spot. There are plenty of large TVs, and the selection of craft beers and mixers is excellent.

The onion rings were great! We had the crabcakes and open faced pot roast on texas toast. Very good!
