"First time, I've always wanted to try this restaurant. Entrees were good. Did it blow me away? No. I will say they had the best baked Apple streusel with thick, dense, whipped cream that I've ever had. They had lots of good beers too."

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary here today. We drove 2 hours to be on time for our 2:00 reservation. We walked in and no one was at the checkin counter for maybe 7/8 minutes. When someone came and asked us if she could help I said we had a 2:00 reservation and she said that it would be a few minutes. I asked her if it would be less than the 15 minutes they allowed you to be late before the reservation was canceled. It was only a few minutes before we were seated. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. We ordered bread which seemed to take a little longer to get to the table and wasn't very warm. The food came out not too much longer and the portions were good. The taste was...

Loved it. We went for lunch and had 3 courses with rolls. The rolls were delicious with the lemony butter. I had Weinerschnitzel and spouse has the Goulash. The breading on the schnitzel was so light. The goulash was also really good. There are two dessert choices and both were really good. I can't recommend this place enough. We will definitely return.

I had the Mussle Appetizer, 8 of them were unopened, which I consider a large amount about 1/3 of the total). I told the waitress, her comment- I 'll tell the kitchen !. Hm? Also, there was no bratwurst dish on the menu , and the dumplings were a gummy mess. I would not recommend this restaurant to some other person expecting german food.

We lived in Munich for many years and were so happy to find a restaurant in KC that made great food that reminded us of home. The food was really excellent and authentic, the German beer selection was respectable, the atmosphere was great. We are looking forward to our next visit to Grünauers.
