Guardado's - Reservar una mesa

My husband and I were in D.C. for his birthday, and staying nearby in Bethesda. A hop skip and a jump from our hotel was Guarardo's, and some of the best food we've eaten in some time! Our server, Diana, was wonderful and helped us make decisions between so many tempting dishes. There are plenty of entree size dishes, my husband had the zarzuela de mariscos (squid, mussels, shrimp, scallops, tilapia and potatoes in a white wine/tomato broth. I decided to order three different small plates (tapas), and get a variety: croquetas, papas fritas, and grilled pork loin in a white wine/pineapple sauce. Had to finish off with dessert and a wonderful espresso. I didn't think they could top the main meal, but they put the most gorgeous Naranja (orange) flan in front of me, I wanted to take the whole kitchen staff home with me. Ohhhh my, so eye rolling good. Plain and simple? You cannot go wrong with Guarardo's if you're anywhere near Bethesda.

Nice meal. Service was what you would expect. Place was busy on a Saturday evening.Staff was hopping. Our table was next to the kitchen and bar so we got more noise than most. Scallops were very good. Shrimp queso also good.

Delicious Paella, great restaurant to cater from for birthdays, had food leftover for days.
