I knew from my first step up the little curb from the right in front parking spot; being greeted enthusiastically by a outdoor dining customer; that Iwas going to like this place. A group of friends and I went to our first trivia night at Food and Beer this week. We had nine people in total and arrived over the course of about 30 minutes. The wait staff was outstanding. I don’t think any two of us ordered the same drink, yet everything was taken and served quickly. Our drinks were consistently topped off, which was great. The food varied and was delicious, according to everyone’s taste. I personally tried the giant pretzel appetizer, and when they say giant, they really mean it! It was also incredibly tasty. I’ve been in Sarasota for the past three weeks for work, and every time I travel, I search for a place just like this one – a cozy, almost dive-bar vibe with excellent food. Let me tell you, this place truly exceeded my expectations. Over the course of 12 nights, I visited five times! The boneless wings are absolutely amazing. I also tried nearly every burger on the menu during this time (except for the basic one), and all were delicious. My personal favorite was the "Down the Hatch" burger. Fantastic spot! I was searching for a place to catch the Eagles and Phillies games while grabbing a bite. Since it was after 10 PM, my options were limited. Lucky for me, I stumbled upon Food and Beer, and I couldn't be happier. The place was busy, but Katelyn at the bar was attentive and professional. She took care of me right away, and my food arrived quickly. The burger was outstanding—cooked exactly as requested—and the fries were unforgettable. I'll definitely be returning. Taco Tuesday was fantastic—there's plenty of food for just $6! However, be cautious about the margaritas; the waitress may mention they're also $6, but there’s an extra charge for the well tequila.
