It's a charming and cozy spot, ideal for a family outing or a relaxed date with friends or a loved one. This place NEVER DISAPPOINTS! I ordered the three-piece dark chicken with mac and cheese fries, while my daughter chose three wings with fries. We both enjoyed lemonade, and I treated myself to a warm slice of chocolate chess pie for dessert. Just a quick note: you order and pay at the counter, even if you're dining in. The parking situation is decent, but it can be a bit tricky to leave due to traffic. Overall, this location is truly fantastic!
As a first-time visitor, I was truly impressed! The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We dined in the restaurant and had a wait time of about 15-20 minutes. We ordered enough for four people, selecting sides such as greens, mac and cheese, baked beans, and potato salad, all of which were excellent. We chose the plate combos and were pleasantly surprised to find that we could customize the sides. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and the delightful flavors stayed with us long after we finished eating.
Absolutely amazing! We ordered two three-piece meals with sides and a chicken tender combo. I've been to the original location and several others in the South, including the one in Midtown Detroit. I really enjoy the flavors and the heat! I'm so happy you’re in Detroit! I’ll definitely be supporting local restaurants more often. It's worth stopping by if you want a break from the usual chain chicken. This feels much more like home-cooked food. Excellent!
Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken really excels in delivering delicious fried chicken. The chicken features a crispy, golden-brown crust with juicy, flavorful meat inside. The shack potatoes are a popular side that complements the chicken wonderfully, and the coleslaw adds a delightful touch to the meal. I highly recommend visiting this place!

The chicken was superb—incredibly tender and juicy. When the server described it as spicy, she hit the nail on the head! It has a lovely, gradual heat that builds nicely. The greens were excellent! The potato salad was flavorful, and the beans were sweet, juicy, and tender too. Overall, it was a very impressive meal!
The chicken was delicious, but the side dishes could use some enhancement. The staff was extremely friendly! Overall, I would rate the food a 4, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 3.
