Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Just Awesome place and the overall vibe! Food: super juicy yet crispy chicken with very flavorful crust! Served with a piece of white bread and if you get it as a meal, you get coleslaw and beans. Beans have a slight kick to them as well. The place has a very original old Detroit style feel with beautiful art on the walls. Made me feel like I?m somewhere exotic. I was served by Raven with a pleasant smile. The people in the kitchen were very playful as well. They serve love on a plate that touches your soul! My fav place for fried chicken in the area and they get solid five stars!

A nice interior, fantastically priced for the portions (read very fair). Of course the chicken is the main attraction and my gf and I adored it. Just the right amount of spice and kick. It 's a truly great low-key restaurant that makes you feel satiated Note to all who complain about it not being 'perfect. ' It 's a soul food restaurant to help relax you after work. It 's not the Golden Feather, it 's a low-key restaurant. Don 't come in expecting a 5 star meal. If you high standards, you should look in the mirror and see how you got to that point.

Horrible Disgusting Service: over 25 minutes to get my simple carry out. The cook is so slow and can't multi task. She checks the chicken by poking it with a fork not by time which I'm sure is why I received raw chicken. The Big Guy cashier was talking on his cell phone in an office while my order sat there on the counter for over 10 minutes. This food is incredible and bursting with flavor! The chicken had a surprising kick that I didn't expect, but it was absolutely delicious; it was so tender and juicy. I'm a picky eater and don't usually like fried chicken but decided to try Guss's. BEST fried chicken I've ever had. The seasoning is throughout the meat, not only in the breading, and the flavor was phenomenal. They forgot our bread but other than that, it was amazing.
