When I'm in Kiel and meet acquaintances, we often go to Gutenberg. The Gutenberg is a corner restaurant with club rooms, as unfortunately they hardly exist today. I marked this as a friend outing, even if we were a couple, because nothing could be less romantic than eating here, while a football match plays on the huge TV screens. but the food was good and filled. I had a peasant breakfast and... my partner had some kind of flashcake. we chose a team to root in the game and enjoyed us very much. a good place for unfancy German cuisine.
