Having stopped in the village of Hattenheim to find a place to eat, we stopped a man walking along the street to ask for his recommendation. He asked us to follow him--which was well worth the walk. He led our group to this restaurant popular with the locals. This is conveniently located just around the corner from the train stop.Though the menu was all in German, the owner spoke good English and was able to explain the terms we were unfamiliar with (wild game/venison). Our meals were very tasty with good sized portions (2 large schnitzels) and reasonably priced.The rump steak was one of the largest, thickest I've seen (more like a filet) which was cooked perfectly. on this Sunday, the spring warm and wonderful, we took a hike on the Rhine. on the way back through the weinberge we came in with dry throats and pouring in the elsje. there had just been opened and all tables were free. although we said how thirsty we are, the unfriendly chefin threw us out mercilessly with the commentary all tables are reserved. we are the opinion: that could have been more professional! we felt badly treated!

Stopped with about a dozen friends on bikes, fantastic service, food was great and Kai's home made sausage especially the venison were amazing, had a large tv brought into the garden to watch the euros but the outside was big enough that you could get away from it if you wanted. They also make their own wine. If ever near there again would make a special detour to go again

the economy is a bit hidden in a side street near the train station on the weinberg side of Hadheim. we stayed in the evening with good weather and sat in the courtyard. we had luck that was still a place free. eating is good and low-cost. nice owner (elsje comes from Belgium) and attentive service. we were at the best on the look for a nice local to eat something with child and cone at noon.The local is a little hidden in the place in the backyard there is a small playground for the small and the tables could be easily combined. the food was delicious. We'll be happy to come back here.

we sat in the hof, aluminum chair and now don't sit "winning room" in the local everything renovated.Eat good and grounded, weeping prices not too high.A very good choice after visiting the wine-probation when the small hunger comes.Nette owners and very attentive service.

we were now repeated in this unique restaurant. very nice owners. great meat dishes. great regional weine at a reasonable price. we are looking forward to the warm months, where you can sit outside.

Stopped there on the way through Germany and it's a very friendly and welcoming place. The surrounding area is very pleasant too.

German bourgeois cuisine in a rustic locality. here everyone knows everyone and it becomes loud when it is locally full.
