The food here is great. The portions are great. The owner has poor business practices. I ordered two salads, both with gyro meat but different salads. I also ordered a carrot cake. When I called in to tell him the order was prepared wrong he said that is impossible. At first I was just gonna get on my flight and chalk it up. But I paid $53 and his insurance on the impossibility of the order being made incorrectly, even after sending him pictures of a salad with the lamb meat I decided to take it him personally. This restaurant used to be excellent when the owner George was there. The food was fresh and the service was good. I haven’t seen him there in a while and it has gone downhill. It’s now run by a bunch of kids one of which I believe is the owners son who do nothing. They stand around and talk to each other. The service was less than zero. I left there thinking I was never going back again. It’s sad I know that the original owner worked hard to make it a great place. It’s not anymore
Absolutely amazing food. The staff is always pleasant and very knowledgeable about the menu. I’ve been coming to this establishment for several years and I love seeing the same faces. The owner knows what he is doing. I’m glad I found this hidden gem. Thank you for always making my belly full and putting a smile on my face. Never change great job to the owner and staff that dedicate their time to make this place outstanding.
Great Greek food. From their huge salads to their falafel gyro's, you can't make a bad choice at this place. With a small dining room the wait staff is limited. However the service is prompt and friendly. This isn't a fancy place. But instead a great family style restaurant that has a lot of take out business. While the pricing is very reasonable, be sure to scan the local papers for take out coupons.

Gyro Palace is fantastic! My boyfriend and I have been visiting every week for months now. The service is exceptional, and all the waitstaff are incredibly friendly. They even remember our orders! Everyone is so warm and welcoming. This place truly deserves all the stars!
You can't go wrong at this place! The food is fantastic and the staff is amazing! We're regulars and we're a bit hesitant to give a full five stars because we don't want to share this gem with too many people!
Best lunch special I’ve ever seen since starting to work from home. Healthy, delicious, and affordable enough to order every day if need be. Go for the chicken kebab over rice w a side salad.

This place has been a staple of Merrick for more than I can remember. The staff is always kind and courteous and the food is delicious. Especially chicken lemon soup for the stomach!
I ordered food for pick up. It was ready when i got there and was D-Lish!
