Habanero Mexican Grill

Terrible service. After I ordered and paid for my meal, the kid behind the counter asked if I wanted my 62 cents in change back. I thought, why wouldn’t I want my change? So, I said yes. He then grabbed a jar labeled “TIPS” and started shaking it, saying he didn’t have change, so I should just keep the dollar and give him 38 cents more. His attitude was incredibly rude. To make matters worse, he turned up the music so loud that it felt like I was in a rough neighborhood. When I mentioned that the music was too loud and inappropriate, he didn’t seem to care at all. I’m giving this restaurant a 3-star rating because the tacos were so spicy I couldn’t eat them. The corn was tasty, but it was lacking cotija cheese or any toppings aside from a spicy ranch sauce. The shrimp empanada had three small shrimp in it and a huge air pocket. I might consider going back for another try, but I wouldn't say this was the best Mexican food I've ever had. I really don’t like writing a less-than-glowing review, but this is my honest opinion. This review is for the East Rockaway location.

Rating 3 stars because the tacos were so spicy that I wasn’t able to eat them, the corn was good but their was no cotija cheese or anything on it but a spicy ranch sauce? The shrimp empanada had 3 small shrimps in it and a huge air bubble, I would probably go back a second time just to try it again but I wouldn’t say it was the best Mexican food… I hate leaving a not the best subpar review but it’s my honest opinion. This review is based off the East Rockaway location.

Great, neighborhood place. Know how to order if you're ordering to go, ask for guac or sour cream on the side or this or that. I'm sure any negative reviews were from an online takeout service, However, the actual food is great and well seasoned, staff is super friendly. One of my go to lunch spots. I usually go in personally and order a couple of tacos and they walk you through the line and you make it how you want it. Great spot for tacos, burritos or quesadillas. Reserva una mesa ahora

Stopped in for the first time with my daughter, small location and freindly staff. We ordered the chicken bowl, beef nachos and steak burrito. The chicken bowl was ok as were the nachos. However, the steak in the burrito tasted horrible, like old hamburger meat Overall, i felt the food was mediocre and a little on the expensive side.

Terrible experience! The guy behind the counter is so awful! Will not go back. Go back to school, learn how to interact with humans, your little restaurant will not stay long with the attitude and music so loud and disgusting you can't enjoy your meal. Food was awful as well. Tacos hard and chicken Terrible. Stay away.
