We were around the area and found this authentic Mexican spot! We ordered the Marubirria soup and the Berria tacos... they were simply delicious!!! You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and the Mexican flavors. It was not only the food that was prepared fresh, but the customer service. This was also a HUGE plus! This spot has new owners, and you can certainly see, feel, and taste the difference! If we can give more stars, we would. The Habanero team is making a very positive impact on the community by bringing the flavors of Mexican cuisine. We will be back!
Rating 3 stars because the tacos were so spicy that I wasn’t able to eat them, the corn was good but their was no cotija cheese or anything on it but a spicy ranch sauce? The shrimp empanada had 3 small shrimps in it and a huge air bubble, I would probably go back a second time just to try it again but I wouldn’t say it was the best Mexican food… I hate leaving a not the best subpar review but it’s my honest opinion. This review is based off the East Rockaway location.
Great, neighborhood place. Know how to order if you're ordering to go, ask for guac or sour cream on the side or this or that. I'm sure any negative reviews were from an online takeout service, However, the actual food is great and well seasoned, staff is super friendly. One of my go to lunch spots. I usually go in personally and order a couple of tacos and they walk you through the line and you make it how you want it. Great spot for tacos, burritos or quesadillas.
Terrible experience! The guy behind the counter is so awful! Will not go back. Go back to school, learn how to interact with humans, your little restaurant will not stay long with the attitude and music so loud and disgusting you can't enjoy your meal. Food was awful as well. Tacos hard and chicken Terrible. Stay away.

It feels like you've stepped into the wrong neighborhood, so I suggest you think twice before visiting. The young staff could definitely use some oversight.
