Hadley Bowling Green Inn

Have just returned home from an overnight stay here, having met up with old friends for dinner. We picked Hadley Bowling Green from its online reviews and the fact that it was in a good location, situated about halfway between us. We are so glad we did! Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. Brad was such a friendly and welcoming host and nothing was too much trouble for him. Having enjoyed a couple of excellently kept Butcombe beers and also sampled from the good choice of delicious cocktails, we then set about dinner, where we were looked after by Emma. Emma was also so friendly and helpful and we knew from the off that we were going to enjoy our evening. We tried a range of dishes between us and all of them were delicious as was the bottle (or two! of red that Emma had recommended. I’m afraid we were the last to leave the bar and hope we didn’t keep the staff away from their deserved rest for too long! Having retired to an extremely comfy bed we re convened this morning for a tasty cooked breakfast to set us up for the day. This is a superb pub restaurant that I can unreservedly recommend. Five star service from Brad, Emma and colleagues, alongside great food and comfy, well kept rooms. Thanks for a brilliant stay and we hope to see you again!

We visited in the summer for a family Sunday luch. Sadly something must have changed since then as our return visit was really dissapointing. 10 of us sat down for a Sundaylunch, mostly roast beef which was overcooked and dry. The food itself was barely warm and for the price (nearly £20 a head) the overall experience was not good. Most of the party were polite enough not to say anything but I could see the dissapointment on thaier faces. The food was nowhere near the high standards of our previous visit so we won't be returning anytime soon when there are lots of other Sunday lunch venues at a lot less money.

We stayed here on our wedding night after getting married at the Holt Fleet. Matthew was really helpful and accommodating (since my wedding brain actually booked it twice! He cancelled my duplicate booking and made arrangements for us to collect the key early. The breakfast was fabulous, freshly cooked with best ciabatta toast I've ever tasted! If you want a nice romantic evening with great food you can't go wrong here. Thank you so much

1 nt stay to break up our journey and was very pleased with our stay, exceeded expectations Lovely building. Cosy log fire Great staff Enjoyable dinner reasonably priced) and breakfast had great cooked choices Very dog friendly Very close to motorway but in a quiet area

Great location for meeting up. Food and service excellent so will be back and stay the night the next time.
