We had a confirmed reservation at another Persian restaurant we had never visited before which we they re-confirmed by phone an hour earlier. When we arrived at the scheduled time they said they could not find our reservation and were so cold and unwelcoming that...we left and went straight to Hafez where we had enjoyed a meal years before. They were busy but seated us right away and were as warm and pleasant as their decor and ambience. The food was delicious and traditional, reminiscent of the home made meals we grew up with and still enjoy.
We were really looking forward to our meal, and we ordered Ghormeh Sabzi, but it arrived burned! I decided to switch to Gheimeh Bademjan, but that wasn't fresh either and tasted quite bad. We also tried the lamb cubes, which were chewy. When we settled the bill, we mentioned to the waiter that our dining experience hadn't been good. He took our payment without showing any sympathy and simply told us to speak to the manager. So, here we are, reflecting on our experience and considering writing a review.
of genuine home cooking. We had two starters to share with Persian freshly made bread. Stuffed vine leaves were the best we ever had due to a drizzle of pomegranate sauce. Main courses of lamb cube with split yellow lentils and baby aubergines and chicken...done in a walnut sauce with pomegranate juice again. That was so delicious. Had both pomegranate and saffron ice cream. Once again the star was pomegranate. An excellent meal with interesting contemporary deco.
After an excellent first visit, our second experience didn’t quite live up to expectations because we didn’t choose the right dishes, and the food wasn't as delicious as before. The rice with chopped lamb kebab came with a piece of butter, but mine didn’t have any. The grilled poussin pieces were tasty, but the portion was quite small. I’ll give it another try, but I'm afraid there might be a letdown on my next visit to London. Reserva una mesa ahora
This restaurant is fantastic! While British cuisine can sometimes get a bad rap (sorry!), I always make it a point to visit when I'm in London, especially in Notting Hill. The location is in a lovely neighborhood, and the decor is both eclectic and beautiful. The service is superb, and the food is amazing! Highly recommended!
The food was very good but not excellent! The restaurant was full of local people and the interior was very pretty but unfortunately the staff was very slow and didn’t pay attention to us at all. We waited 30 minutes to get the bill and...another 15 minutes to pay. We wouldn’t come back again.
