Hakataya - Reserva de mesa

Took me a while to track down this little gem but I'm glad I went to the effort. The gyoza, pork kakuni and rainbow roll were morsels of deliciousness but the main attraction was the ramen! I had the Hell Ramen and blondey had the Yokohama.. both bowls were brimming with noodles had generous slices of pork, half a boiled egg, bamboo and nori sheets. The yokohama broth had a slight sweetness to it and the hell broth definitely had a kick! I finished the meal with daifuku mochi.. ice cream wrapped in mochi skin.. both the yuzu and coconut flavours were great. Great vegetarian options, vegan too. The food quality was exceptional! The inari nigiri was delicious. The atmosphere was slow paced and relaxing. Not a quick done in experience but well worth it. I did find a hair on my food but I did eat it anyway (after removing it) and I didn't raise it with the staff (who looked very clean). In covid terms it is a small premises and the tables are close together. Price was well worth it with the quality of food served. Each dish below was £14.95!

Perfect place for a great ramen. The place is a little bit tiny, but the atmosphere is right and the food is delicious. The whiskey selection is also great, the have Nikka, which is always a big plus. I'm pretty sure I am coming back the next time I visit Edinburgh.

hakataya is a beautiful little hidden gem in the new city. also through their menu is small, eating is great and this is the perfect place to enjoy authentic Japanese food in a cozy meadow. Reserva una mesa ahora

Lovely little hidden gem. Friendly staff and the freshest best sushi I had so far in town. Can't wait to go back and try their other dishes. Also. 10 points for presentation!

beautiful tonseysu and bento boxes. could be more generous, hitting, but for a good lunch deal I can't complain. the personal is friendly.
