Hakims Imbiss- Und Steakhaus

Got brought here by a local friend and had a great evening with excellent ribs. Apparently Hakim set up this shack type building to serve American military from a base next door and stayed when they left. System is simple, no service you just go...up to Hakim, tell him you want ribs and how many then go and sit down. If you want drinks there are a couple of fridges with beer and soft drinks. After a wait, maybe seeing the people who were there before you get their food, you go and enquire if yours are ready. Apparently rushing him or pushing can get you sent away in fed. This place is one of the more interesting places in Heidelberg. Originally catering to US military, offering them BBQ ribs more delicious than the ones from home, and boasting a special secret sauce recipe, it has now adjusted to the departure of the military and...gathered a new clientel. The owner, Hakim, has a very colorful past that he is happy to relate. The place itself, a kind of a wagon with a built-on tent, is so unusual in Germany, one thinks one has been beamed to the Middle East. Fries are delicious too. But the main draw is the unique flavor of Hakim himself and his story.

Hakim and his restaurant are definitely not to be missed! You have to check it out if you are in Heidelberg. The food is delicious, and Hakim is so friendly and kind and obviously loves to serve his customers. This restaurant is the most unique...restaurant I have been to in a long time, if not ever. It was very nice for us to grab Hakim's delicious ribs and chips and watch the World Cup Final in our flat. We all decided his ribs were the most delicious we had ever eaten!

After visiting the place once, we came almost every day during our one week stay. We tried also few other places recommended by TripAdvisor, but this is one is the best. The place is not fancy, the owner is nice but not particularly friendly, but...he certainly knows how to make a delicious food gourmet level. You can sit outside under a tree and combine the ribs with a beer. We ate ribs with potato chips 5 times and didn't tried the other dishes ... Reserva una mesa ahora

Hakim came to Germany from Afghanistan years ago, and opened a small imbiss behind the then-US Army Headquarters at Campbell Barracks in Heidelberg-Rohrbach. He offers outside and indoor seating, and his menu consists of spare ribs, steak, chicken breast, and fries shaped like large thick...potato chips. Soft drinks and beer are available, and the prices are down-to-earth. The portions are such that many end up with a doggy bag when they leave.

we were advised to go to the opposite side, so we did. first impression was .. a simple place we had to wait almost 1 hour, that was so busy. if we have our ribs. what a taste, best ever...Ribs, a real fun and great experience not only for the eye bit also for the mouth. there is so much to go here to look around there there are so many pictures and stubborn to see. but again the taste. must have tried to understand how delicious this is.

hidden on hakims snack at the rewe in heidelberg, which is a wonderful foundation! funky, eclectic decoration, sitting in free, fabulous eating. some of the most delicate but crispy pork rib racks we ever had. great chips, wonderfully tasteful rice dishes, good salads. hakim itself is a sign with large smiles, which cooks and serves from the heart. low prices, huge portions, do not miss them hakim!

we came after 3 years and ribs are as good as before. I recommend everyone who visits heidelberg to approach hakim. delicious!
