Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

I've been to this Handel's location in Long Beach a few times, and it's always been a great experience. The ice cream is delicious, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Located in the center of LBX there's plenty of space for you to walk around and enjoy your delicious ice cream.I like the fact that Handel's has so many different flavors to choose from. There's something for everyone, whether you're a fan of classic flavors like chocolate and vanilla, or you're looking for something more unique like Monkey Business or the Orange Dream Cream, you'll be leaving with a satisfied sweet tooth.If you're looking for a great place to get ice cream in Long Beach, I highly recommend Handel's...

There is ALWAYS a line....because the ice cream is THAT. GOOD! Know that even when the line extends to the end of the curb, it moves very quickly, thanks to the folks behind the window.The service is excellent, and the QUALITY of the ice cream is so good! This is heads and shoulders above other chain ice cream shops (note: I am sadly lactose intolerant, but can somehow tolerate Handels! .Be aware that their small scoop is two and a half scoops, so if you don 't eat your ice cream quickly on the cone, you may want to get a cup to dump it into once it gets drippy! The service needs improvement. The staff had a poor attitude and were not attentive. The windows remained closed during open hours, which was confusing. Service was very slow, and one girl was completely ignored, so I had to step in to get the workers’ attention for her. It might be a good idea to hire new staff or give the current employees a warning.

The bad: There is no indoor seating, which can be a downside. Additionally, I found the pumpkin pie flavor to be quite sweet for my taste. The interesting: This ice cream shop originated in Ohio, and they claim to make their ice creams fresh on-site. Absolutely the best ice cream! My favorite is the 4-scoop sampler, and the price is perfect. No matter which flavor you choose, it will be delicious. There’s something incredibly creamy and delightful about this ice cream!

We love this place! The people working there are always so friendly and the line moves quickly. Our favorite part are the tiny kids cones! They're the perfect size for toddlers. Great treat without the sugar overload.
