Ideally situated at the bottom of the waterfalls just before the ticket entry, it almost has a captive market. Next to it is a very good waffle stand. This place is very busy but the kitchen seems to cope well. Service was not slow given the number of large groups being served. Why a poor rating?The tables are not cleaned effectively between covers. So the outside tables seemed to be a wasp magnet due to sticky spilt cola etc. We did sit inside which was cool given the 25+ it was out side. Food was just ok, yes the menu had a good selection of Austrian meals, which would cover most pallets. And it appeared to be fresh, but it just did not taste as good as some I have had for half the price....
Ate lunch here out of season so this was the only cafe open but there were still a good few diners in the café. I ordered only a soup but my other half had pork steak on skewers which came in a huge dish with potato rosti, rice, vegetables and tasty mushroom sauce. I had a small portion of this and it was delicious. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. I'd be happy to try other dishes on their extensive menus.
Well can't even give a review of food, but the reception was terrible. Yes they were busy, but there were many tables and yet even with 2 hungry young children we were rudely said we are people not robots as I understand that but tell us friendly and patient you can sit but it will take a while to wait no problem, but the way this guy spoke to us was unacceptable.
Hanke's Cafe is at the bottom of the Krimml Falls. It's just what you would expect from a restaurant at a busy tourist location.The service was quick and the food was tasty if not very exciting. The lady who served us was pleasant and spoke some English. Prices were what you would expect to pay at a tourist trap and the toilets were clean

With a direct view of the waterfalls offers the restaurant a top quality food and has a fast service! For 16 euros we get a plate of wild game with lots of meat on it. I liked it very much. We hat a friendly/fast service, which is the case of the many bus tourists is necessary
We visited the café halfway up and had no complaints. At this cafe on the ground stopped on coffee and cakes and the waiter was very rude and deliberately ignores us for some considerable time.
A good restaurant with great views. A well-rounded menu and moderate prices. Great staff and good tasting. I recommend your waterfalls hike and then enjoy and relax in the restaurant.
The food is average at best, but you can see part of the falls from the outdoor tables. Selection is good, and the service wasn't bad for a tourist trap. It serves its purpose.

Nice place with view to a "krimml wasserfalle" but do not expect something extraordinary. It is just a clasic restaurant like 10.000 others.....
Good food, services and location. What do you ask?! The Margherita pizza and coffee are very good.
